Charles de Saint-Etienne de la Tour account book [photostat], 1657-1793; bulk: 1657-1663.

Photostat copy of an account book of Acadian governor and trader Charles de Saint-Etienne de la Tour, kept by de la Tour's Boston agent and merchant, Joshua Scottow, 1657-1663. The account book contains the records of goods purchased and sold such as beavers, wine, clothes, shoes, salt, butter, flour and codfish. The last page of the book contains records of the Prout family, 1753-93. Collection also contains a typed transcript of the account book; and a typed copy of an article written by Gilbert O. Bent on the war between la Tour and Charles de Menou d'Aulnay, which originally appeared in Acadiensis, v. 4, 1904. Location of original account book is unknown.
